Ocean eReferral offers a more efficient and complete referral process to deliver an improved patient experience and facilitating smoother transitions in care.  It also integrates with all of the most commonly used electronic medical record (EMR) systems in Ontario: Telus PS Suite, Oscar Classic, Oscar Pro, and Accuro.

For Primary Care Providers

  1. Integration with most common electronic medical record (EMRs), so you can send referrals quickly and directly.

  2. Referral status updates within your EMR.

  3. Standardized referral forms are updated automatically with pre-populated information from your EMR and include integrated clinical guidelines to support best practice.

  4. A map-based directory of available services and programs, complete with wait times where available.

  5. Easy and secure in-solution communication reduces administrative tasks, such as the need to make follow-up calls.
  6. Patients can confirm appointments online and choose to receive email notifications, which include referral status and appointment details.
  7. All costs are covered as part of the Ontario eServices Program, including training and set up.

For eReferral Recipients

  1. Forms are pre-populated from the patient chart, ensuring you can easily send and receive up-to-date patient information, i.e., medication lists, allergies and calculated BMI.

  2. Customized eReferral forms ensure that you receive complete referrals, minimizing the need to request additional information from the referrer.

  3. eReferral forms include integrated clinical guidelines to support best practices, e.g. when it’s clinically appropriate to request an X-ray versus MRI.

  4. Easy and secure in-solution communication reduces administrative tasks, such as the need to make follow-up calls.
